Get Vocal

Since 2009 Co Wexford Age Equality Network has been working on the Get Vocal programme which is delivered by Wexford Local Development. Get Vocal is grant-aided and co-ordinated on a National Level by Age & Opportunity, supported by The Atlantic Philantrophies.

The aim of the programme is to develop and strengthen structures that link older people’s organisations together in order to strengthen the voice of older people, so that older people themselves can engage with service providers and policy makers on the issues that affect them.

Get Vocal works in different ways in different parts of Ireland. Learn more about our Get Vocal partners

Each year we follow an agreed strategic work-plan based on what our member groups tell us is important and in consultation with Wexford Local Development and Age & Opportunity.

At all times it is our members who prioritise action, and we have carried out consultations with local groups to determine what issues matter most for older people in Co. Wexford. While it is not within the remit of the Network to deliver the responses suggested, we do actively seek to engage with service providers or statutory bodies to devise effective solutions. Some of the examples of local consultations are listed here.
